What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

The following are the core beliefs of Grace Fellowship Church based on the foundational truths taught in Scripture. Our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

The Bible

We believe the Bible, consisting of both the Old and New Testaments, is the Word of God. Even though written by human hands, the Scripture was divinely inspired and given by God.
We believe the Bible is without error in the original writings and it is our final authority for living.
2 Timothy 3:16 | 2 Peter 1:20 | Psalm 119:160

God

We believe in one God, Who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:1, 26-27, 3:22 | Psalm 90:2 | Matthew 28:19

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ gave Himself to the world through a virgin birth to be the physical and Spiritual sacrifice for the sins of mankind. He was and is both God and man. Though He lived a sinless life, He was crucified and died to pay the penalty sin requires. He was buried in a tomb for three days, after which He was raised from the dead, now offering the world new life and freedom from the penalty of sin which is eternal death. Jesus ascended back to Heaven and will again return to the earth to rule as King of Kings.
Matthew 1:22-23 | Isaiah 9:6 | John 1:1-5, 14:10-30 | Hebrews 4:14,       2 Corinthians 15:3-4

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells and gives Spiritual guidance to all believers. He leads us to a constant and deeper walk with Jesus Christ. It is by His power, wisdom, counsel and gifts that believers are able to live Godly lives in this world. The Holy Spirit makes us aware of our need for Jesus as Savior.
Acts 1:8 | 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16 | 2 Corinthians 3:17
Galatians 5:25 | Ephesians 5:18

Mankind

We believe humankind was created by God to have fellowship with Him. Adam and Eve were created in God’s own image and lived in perfect union with Him. They sinned by disobeying God, thereby separating that union with God. As a result of Adam’s sin, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and in desperate need of the grace of God in Jesus Christ. Without this salvation from God through Jesus Christ, people will be assigned to a terrible place called Hell.
Genesis 3:17 | Psalm 8:3-6 | Isaiah 53:6a | 2 Thessalonians 1:6-9 Romans 3:23

Salvation

We believe that the penalty of sin is death, but God offers us salvation. Jesus Christ came to earth to show us the love of the Father and to die the death that was rightfully ours because of sin. All who will, by faith, confess their sins and turn their lives over to Jesus will be saved from the condemnation of sin and given new life in Jesus. There is nothing we can do to earn God’s favor, and it is only by faith in Jesus that we can be restored to the union with God for which we were all created.
John 14:6 | Romans 5:1 | Romans 6:23 | Galatians 3:26
Ephesians 2:8-9 | Titus 3
